Phuket International Airport (HKT) Transfers
Phuket International Airport is at the far northern tip of the island, in Mai Khao. Most popular beaches are on the west and south coasts, so the drive to your hotel can take anywhere from 15 minutes to over 90 minutes, depending on where you’re staying and the time of day.

Popular Phuket Airport Transfer Routes
Phuket Airport to Patong Beach
Phuket’s busiest beach, with nightlife, shopping and the widest choice of hotels. Patong is about 35–40 km from the airport, and the drive usually takes 50–60 minutes. Allow more time from late afternoon.
Phuket Airport to Kata and Karon
Family-friendly beaches on the southwest coast, about 42–48 km from the airport. Expect roughly 60–75 minutes on a normal day.
Phuket Airport to Kamala, Surin and Bang Tao
These quieter, upmarket beaches are closer to the airport. Bang Tao and Laguna are about 21 km away (roughly 30 minutes), Surin about 23 km, and Kamala about 28 km (roughly 40 minutes).
Phuket Airport to Phuket Town
About 32 km from the airport, roughly 40–45 minutes. A good option for Old Town guesthouses, the weekend markets and cafés.
Phuket Airport to Rawai, Nai Harn and Chalong
The southern end of the island, about 40–48 km away, with drive times of 50–75 minutes. A good fit for villas, yacht marinas and Big Buddha visits.
Phuket Airport to Mai Khao and Nai Yang
Right next to the airport, about 4–8 km away, so the transfer takes only 10–15 minutes. Good for beachfront resorts and early flights.
Phuket Airport to Khao Lak
About 80 km north, with a drive time of roughly 1 to 1.5 hours. The route doesn’t pass through Phuket Town, so it’s usually quicker and calmer than a Patong transfer. Khao Lak is a long strip of separate beaches, so please give us your exact hotel.
Phuket Airport to Krabi and Ao Nang
A long-distance private transfer of about 170 km, usually around 3 hours. Ideal for families and groups who want to avoid changing vehicles.

The airport is a long drive from most beaches, so we recommend leaving earlier than you think:

- From Patong, Kata, Karon or Rawai, this means leaving your hotel roughly 4.5 hours before an international departure.
